I'm actually not in a shitty mood -- I've started to transition to the
acceptance phase. Trump is going to get re-elected.
It is looking more and more like Bernie will either be the nominee or he will have a legitimate grievance that he was "robbed" of the nomination if he is not. I hope I'm wrong and that this doesn't prove to be the second time that clown has given Donald Trump the edge he needs to be elected president, but who the fuck knows.
Maybe he will actually win and spend four years as the most ineffectual president since Jimmy Carter. That would be fine by me: stop appointing federalist rejects who barely obtained law degrees to the courts, stop dismantling our democracy, put competent people back in charge of federal agencies may not be much, but a little bit of addition by subtraction isn't nothing.
I just don't think he can win. And I don't think anyone who can win the general is going to win the primary absent some kind of "intervention" that will send an army of pissed off Bernie Bros to passive-aggressively stay home and pout or go vote for Jill Stein again (and this time I think they would actually have cause to be upset).
But I didn't think Trump could win either, so there is that.
